Artist statement

Since my youth, art has always been an integral part of my being.    Coming from a family where art flowed through their veins, from my father’s black and white photography to his hand coloring of the same, my mother and grandmother’s crocheting and knitting on one side to music on my father’s mother’s side it was just a matter of finding my media.

Earlier in life, I drew and dabbled in photography with some success but never truly finding it soul satisfying.  Then on a whim i took a course at a local glass studio. I was addicted and glass became my drug of choice.   The hardness coupled with it’s fragility speaks to me.  I experiment with multiple layers, colors and inclusions to bring my vision to life.

Lately I use powders, frit and glass paints to color my pieces.   My heritage and love of nature are my inspirations.
